Professor Feng Jun, Ph.D. in Law, is a native of Rugao County, Jiangsu Province. His Current positions include: research fellow, supervisor of Ph.D. candidates and the Secretary of the Joint Party Committee of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law; deputy to the Thirteenth National People’s Congress, member of the Standing Committee and of the Social Construction Committee of the Thirteenth National People’s Congress; Vice Chairman of Administrative Law Research Committee of China Law Society; and Vice Chairman of the Law Society of Shangdong Province.
Previous positions held: Party Secretary and Deputy Director of CASS Law Institute; member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Department of Justice of Shandong Province; Party Secretary of the Lawyers’ Association of Shandong Province; Party Secretary of the Notary Public Association of Shandong Province; Deputy Director, member of the Party Committee, and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Party Committee of CASS Institute of Political Science.
Professor Feng has rich experience in both theoretical research and practical work. He is one of the first doctors in administrative law and the first post-doctoral researcher in administrative law in China. He has been engaged in the research and teaching of administrative law for a long period of time, with high attainments and great influence in the fields of administrative law and cultural law.
He has published over a dozen monographs and more than 100 academic papers and research reports. His representative works include: Historical Background and Major Innovations of Xi Jinping’s Thought on the Rule of Law; Historical Transition of Public Law Research in China: Observations and Reflections; a New Theory of Administrative Penalty Law; Studies on the System of Examination and Selection of Civil Servants; a Commentary of the State Compensation Law; Rethinking of the Issue of Bringing State Compensation under the Rule of Law; Reflections on the Issue of Omissions and Defects in the Theory of Balance; Reflections on the Advancement of the Work of Resolution of Social Conflicts; the Status and Role of Cultural Legislation in the Socialist System of Law with Chinese Characteristics; and Essentials of the Freedom of the Press and the System of Disclosure of Information in Sweden.
